Annoyed.
I wrote a super fantastic blog post about the Providence & Worcester railroad. You would have laughed, cried, and hugged your family if you had read it.
So, I pressed "Preview" --- and the whole thing disappeared. I can't find a trace of the post anywhere.
I can't write any more tonight, because I spent more than an hour writing the piece. Now I'm too tired to rethink what I typed.
Lesson: type it all out in Notepad first, THEN post to the site. Amen.

Doesn't happen often, but often enough that I routinely copy a post or comment before previewing it. Sorry. I'm surprised Blogger didn't autosave at least most of it: did you check under Sign In--Edit Posts and see if it's listed there as a Draft?

Might I also suggest you loosen your security settings to allow commenters to post as Anonymous or Name/URL? You'll still have the protection of a captcha. This Profile stuff is a pain, and not everyone will want to sign up for one.
Testing out my Anonymous / URL signin. I think this should be the proper configuration but I seem to be borderline Luddite when it comes to Blogspot. Here goes...
